Love is beautiful. As I waited to board my flight today, I people watched. When people are in love or have been together for a long time, there is a syncing of souls that is undeniable to the natural eye…and it is marvelous to behold. I also saw some couples that seemed a little disconnected. It could have just been me or the day. However, I said a quick prayer for them.
This is the first Valentine’s Day that I am officially single. I don’t remember when I’ve ever been single on a Valentine’s Day. Nonetheless, here I am, as single as single can be. And guess what? I’m good. Like, great. I had a few Valentine invites and still chose to travel solo to crash my bestie’s weekend. I know for certain that I’m not quite ready to welcome love just yet.
The end of the month will make a full year that I’ve been solo. I’ve become quite comfortable with this path. However, sitting in the airport, waiting to board my flight and watching those strangers, gave me hope. One day…love will win.
