Plans Deferred

Proverbs 13: 16-17 (NLT) Wise people think before they act; fools don’t – and even brag about their foolishness. An unreliable messenger stumbles into trouble, but a reliable messenger brings healing.

Many of us have had to cancel plans because of COVID-19. It doesn’t need to be said, but Covid-19 has completely disrupted our lives. Everyone is eager to get back to their daily lives. Some of us have even become exceedingly grateful for a life or people that we took for granted.

Fellow introverts welcome being confined to their homes. In fact, being in “my space” has always been our favorite place to be. So, naturally Team Introverts are more than willing to stay at home and not venture out. On the contrary, there are those of us, who thrive being outside, being among others and being confined to one place is the last option we would ever choose.

Well, it is now over a month into this quarantine and going outside is even scarier than at the onset of COVID-19. We have had to unwillingly and stubbornly relinquish some form of control. No matter your personality, most of us are over the pandemic of COVID-19. However, that doesn’t matter. COVID-19 simply isn’t over. The world is still in a position of the unknown and many municipalities are considering reopening their economies. Oddly and eerily, there are many people eager to oblige.

Some of us might be stuck in the moment. Sulking over lost plans, lost events or even lost time. We are so set on what our plans were and refuse to adjust and make new realistic plans. But we can’t be too hasty to resume as normal when normal no longer exists.

We must be wise and plan accordingly. This is not what any of us planned. However, it is the plan. Be careful of who you listen to and get advice from. We must continue to seek God’s will and not our own. There is peace in His will.
